Exit Low UK was formed back in 1998, a new website design company that, at the time, also offered IT recruitment services. The company was based in Kent, Sussex and employed just 8 people in the beginning.
The company then split into two separate entities in 1999, one was to be called A1 Secured, which would deal with the growing demand for IT recruitment, and the other remained as Exit Low, offering Technical and Online Services.
In 2000 Exit Low contracted out most of its staff to work on the Genie Project (now www.02.co.uk), which was British Telecom's first attempt at entering the mobile SMS market. Having allocated most of its design and development staff to this huge project, the only in house members of staff left were the online marketing and search engine promotion members. It was at this point that Exit Low decided to build on its existing marketing team and specialise in search engine promotion.
Due to the infancy of the search engines and their naivety, in 2000, it was quite easy to accomplish some very good results in little time at all (At the time if you bought a domain with the keywords you wanted to promote, you would literally take a number one position in the engines the next day.), and the competition grew daily.
Once we entered the year 2002 the search engines were tightening up on their criteria for placements and all of a sudden 90% of the companies offering search engine promotion found themselves out of date and unable to provide results. Fortunately Exit Low re-invested a substantial amount of money back into educating its staff with the latest search engine techniques and information (the numerous conferences in the US helped a lot as they always seemed to know what was going to happen 6 months before the UK did). It was at this time that Exit Low introduced the money back guarantee on their search engine services (All confidence in online marketing had disappeared due to the vast amount of companies that simply could not deliver anymore, even though they had already been paid!).
The company carried on growing for the next few years, expanding their services to Europe and establishing a large client base in Spain and Gibraltar.
In 2005 Exit Low bought out Gibraltar and UK based Commercial Business Development.
In 2006 Exit Low opens a new office in Leeds, merging the scattered offices in the UK, and opens a new office in Gibraltar to service Europe.
